Monday Memories - My First Sale on Zazzle

I joined Zazzle on Feburary 10, 2008. When I joined I added a few of my photographs to some products and then I purchased some clipart and did the same with that. I was new to the site and wasn't sure what to expect, but I was disappointed because of the lack of sales and kind of left my shop alone for awhile.
On March 14 I checked my email and noticed someone had purchased something, so I logged into my account to check it out. To my surprise I had sold 40 books of postage stamps somewhere in Oregon. I only had my royalty set at 10% (because I didn't know much about changing prices) and made a whole $21.60! It was only eight days later when I received my second sale, but for the SAME item by a totally DIFFERENT customer! By that time I was smart enough to change my royalty, haha.
I think that was the little motivation I needed to have me continue work harder everyday.

Trip to Warren Dunes

I made a little trip with Dan and our friend Andy to Warren Dunes for the day to meet up with some friends of mine from Chicago. I prepared for a cold day and it ended up being 80 degrees, hot and very sunny. So much for wearing real shoes and bringing a hoodie. While I waited for my friends to arrive, the three of us ventured through this wooded area down a little creek. I was regretting that I didn't have water shoes and feared I'd get bit by a water snake or a crayfish. Perhaps I'd get attacked by a leech? We hit a point where we had to go back and retrieve my friends and then we set back out down the creek. We made it further down this time and I became a little more nervous. The water started to get deeper and there was a manifestation of water spiders everywhere. This meant there were frogs around, and Dan and Andy took the opportunity to try and catch them. If there were frogs around, then there were snakes. I decided not to stick around and the girls and I left Dan and Andy behind and hiked up a hill on the side to get to the safety of the dry land. Despite being frightened, I did enjoy being back there. Here are a couple pictures.

We enjoyed the rest of the day by just hanging around the beach and concession area. 

I didn't take a lot of pictures. Just one of the beach and one of a sand dune.

On another note, some of you who visit may have noticed a change in the URL. I'm no longer calling the blog Zazzle Elite and I purchased a domain. I'm in the process of thinking of what I'd like to title my blog. I'm sticking with my name until then.

2011 Wall Calendars

I just finished up my wall calendars for the next year. I wasn't even going to make them until I had seen that DogPlay over at Zazzle made these neat calendar templates for us to use. They were originally created for his parent's store over at Just Pretty.

As you can see, the template is just very nicely done.

I'm Home!

My vacation went over alright, though it could have been better.
Dan and I didn't get much fishing in. I caught a Crappie and he caught a Bass.

I tried to play with the camera a little. I had very little inspiration so this is all I got to.

All I can say is, I'm glad to be back home.

Now that I'm back around I need to get working on my shop more. I'm in the process of thinking of a new name for the blog as well.

Back from Camping

I'm back from our camping trip. We had really nice weather all the way up until Sunday morning.
The river was really nice on Saturday for tubing down the Au Sable. I didn't really take my camera out until we went to Iargo Springs on Sunday afternoon. I'm working on getting everything into my store and have only made postcards so far.
