Watching Over Your Neighborhood

Around 3:30 AM on Saturday night I woke up to a phone call from my brother. I flipped open the phone and instantly woke up to the anxiety in his voice. All I could comprehend was that a vehicle was on fire and the call was disconnected. I received another call from my mom, who elaborated a little more on the situation. Apparently, the neighbor's truck across the street from them was engulfed with enormous flames. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she was really mad.
She called me in the afternoon after she found out everything that had been going on. The truck belongs to her neighbor's son who has been staying at his mother's (I believe he is in his mid 20's) and the reason his truck was on the verge of blowing up was because someone threw some sort of bomb in it. I guess it's been a person who has been after him off and on. My mom said she heard it was because of an affair the neighbor's son had with the guy's girlfriend and that guy is also a drug dealer. I am convinced that is very well drug related.

The home that the truck was parked in front of was completely destroyed and it had just been put up for sale.

Another incident I'd like to share with all of you is something that happened in my own apartment complex about a couple months ago. A boy that Dan goes to school with was smashed in the head with a baseball bat one afternoon. He was mistaken for the wrong person and it was drug related. He ended up being in a coma for several weeks and will never be in the same condition prior to the accident.

Both of these occurred in neighborhoods that aren't considered to be dangerous. Of course every neighborhood has their negative qualities, but I feel that these are just too crazy. I'd just like to remind everyone to keep an eye out for suspicious activities in your neighborhood. It is the only way to keep a community from deteriorating.

That's the thing, though, it's not. Just a few bad activities that could eventually lead to that.
