Long Walks and Photo Shoots

I finally had a day off of work! Nicole came over and we went for a walk around town and took a bunch of pictures of ourselves.

First, we walked to the park. We played on those things that rock back and forth. I'm not sure what their official name is, but they are dangerous.

Then we went on the swings for a little bit.

We ran around.

I went to jail.

We went down a slide.

I grew taller than Nicole, a lot taller.

We went shopping.

And then we became models for LG.

So, yeah. It was a pretty eventful Tuesday.

Google - Not Just for Web Browsing

Some of you may or may not know that Google has a bunch of tools in addition to their web browser. A few of the more popular ones include Google Earth, Google Translate, and Blogger. I just wanted to share a few of the tools that I think are overlooked and might be useful to some of you.

  • Google Health- This is an organizational tool to keep track of all of your health information. You can also use it to share your information securely with anyone you wish.
  • Google Notebook- A handy way to keep track of all your little notes. Has a great organization system to help you keep track of everything.
  • Google 411- (This is probably my absolute favorite!) Problem: You need to know the number to the local movie theater. There's no computer around to search for the number and all you have is your phone. You could call 411 from your phone to get the number, but you'd rather not waste $1.99 just to get the number. Solution: Just dial 1-800-GOOG411. It's free and very simple to use!
  • Google Talk- Send and receive instant messages with your friends and family. Don't feel like typing? Connect to a voice chat.
There is one more thing I wanted to share, but it's not quite a tool.

Google Holiday Logos
- One of my favorite things about Google is seeing the different logos on all the holidays, especially ones I have never heard of. Sometimes I miss out on the designs, though. I just found out that there is a directory of all of them and you can go check it out to see which ones you missed.

Here is a whole directory of all the tools that Google has to offer: Google Tools

Is there a Google tool you use that you just couldn't live without? Which one is your favorite and how does it make a difference in your daily life?

Movies, Swimming and Sales!

I really enjoyed these two days off of work.

On Monday night Dan and I went to the movies to see The Proposal. I thought it was hilarious and we both had a good time.

Yesterday was quite a full day. Nicole and I met up and walked to 7-Eleven for ice cream. When we got back to the neighborhood we went tanning and swimming at the pool. We dried off in the sauna and then went with her boyfriend up to Wendy's for frosties. I came home and made dinner for Dan and myself and then we went to the movies to see Year One. It was my second time seeing it. The movie didn't get out until around 12 AM and I was amazed to see the theater packed with people waiting to see the new Transformers movie.

I also sold a pack of these business cards yesterday:

As I said, very exciting days off but now it's time to go back to work. Can't wait for my next day off on Friday!

Slacking

Haven't had the chance to update in awhile. I've been busy with work and there was an unexpected issue that took up my whole night last night.

I'm just getting ready to eat some macaroni and then get some housework done. I'm going to make dinner for Dan and I when he gets home from work and then we're going to the movies to see The Proposal.

I just wanted to show off a couple of products I sold in the last couple days.

I'm going to go get some work done now.

Dieting and Search Engines

I'm starting a new diet, starting today. I'm going to be using Bragg's Apple Cider Vinegar and garcinia cambogia. Hopefully that and a little exercise will do the trick. My mom swears by the vinegar and I was told by a GNC associate that the garcinia cambogia will help curve my carbohydrates. I'm not usually good with sticking to a "diet," but I'm hoping I can pull through with this one.

I also just wanted to let everyone know about a commercial I saw last night for a new search engine. It's called Bing and it is powered by Microsoft. Not sure if it can actually replace Google, but we will see how it all goes.

Today's going to be a long day, again, so I better get going. Have a great day. :)

Bed Sheets, Tacos, and Mosquito Bites

It was a long day at work yesterday! My Zazzle needs to pick up so I can quit my job!
I didn't do too much when I got off. Stopped over at Sears to get some bed sheets for our new bed. I bought a set for $19.95 (with tax) that included a fitted sheet, a flat sheet and two standard pillow cases. I could have sprung for a comforter set for an extra $20 but we don't really need all that. I think I found a pretty good deal!

We went grocery shopping at Jewel-Osco when Dan got off work to get a few things. We made tacos for dinner and watched T.V. together for a little bit. He doesn't stay up too late and usually passes out right after dinner.

When we went home last weekend, I got bit on the sole of my foot by a mosquito. It's probably one of the worst places to have a bug bite. I just wanted to let you all know of this lotion I bought last year on a camping trip when I had a bunch of bites on my legs. It's called Caladryl Clear and it has been a life saver for me so far! I don't know what I would do without it so I just wanted to share that piece of information with all of you now that it is summer time. It's also meant to relieve pain and itching associated with poision ivy, poison oak or poison sumac. I have never suffered from any of those so I can't say if it works well for that or not.

Have a great day everyone!

BBQ Invitation

Now that Summer is in the air, it's time for barbecues!
Get this cute invitation to send to your friends and family.

Featured on Squidoo and Zazzle

Dan and I just got home a couple hours ago. We had a long weekend! I don't even know where to begin, so I'll just try to write everything in chronological order.

[Friday] We drove home as soon as Dan got off of school to watch the Red Wings game with Andy and Jeff. Terrible game.

[Saturday] We spent some time with Dan's mom's side of the family. His grandmother's mother had passed away so we went to visit with everyone because we won't be able to make it to the funeral since it is on a weekday. Afterward, we visited my grandma and then my mom. In the late afternoon Dan and I took my sister shopping at the mall. I went back to my mom's to drop Shannon off and then we went to a bonfire at our friend Jeff's.

[Sunday] We visited with Dan's dad in the afternoon. He had to leave around 2:00 to go to a barbecue so Dan and I went to a car show at the Wilson Barn for a few hours. On our way back home we spontaneously stopped in St. Joseph, MI to check it out and to walk around Lake Michigan. I took a couple pictures on my phone and sent them to my Twitter account. Here's one:

Now we are home again! Just got online to check my email and Zazzle things. Sold a bunch of stamps this weekend. Ten books of these:

and six books of these:

I also discovered that one of my t-shirt designs is being featured on someone's Zazzle and Squidoo lens! This is the shirt:

Packing

I'm just waking up for the day and getting ready to head out in the afternoon. Dan and I are leaving to go back to Michigan as soon as he gets off of school. Don't have much to say this morning, but I did want to share this article with you all.

Jury Duty Scam

I just wanted to share this email with you all that I received from my mom.

This has been verified by the FBI (their link is also included below).
It is spreading fast so be prepared should you get this call. Most of us take those summonses for jury duty seriously, but enough people skip out on their civic duty, that a new and ominous kind of fraud has surfaced.

The caller claims to be a jury coordinator. If you protest that you never received a summons for jury duty, the scammer asks you for your Social Security number and date of birth so he or she can verify the information and cancel the arrest warrant. Give out any of this information and bingo; your identity was just stolen.

The fraud has been reported so far in 11 states, including Oklahoma , Illinois , and Colorado . This (swindle) is particularly insidious because they use intimidation over the phone to try to bully people into giving information by pretending they are with the court system. The FBI and the federal court system have issued nationwide alerts on their web sites, warning consumers about the fraud.

On to Game Seven!

I had a nice time yesterday before I had to go to work in the evening. Nicole and I went to the mall to hang out for a bit. We got a bite to eat at Red Robin and then went to Baskin-Robbins for dessert. Then we went to go see The Hangover. I didn't stay for long because I had to be at work. I've already seen it and I wanted to get Nicole in so that she could see it for free.

Work wasn't bad. I had someone to talk to the whole time and I kind of got a glimpse of the Red Wing's game through the window at Red Robin. Unfortunately, we lost. We always have game seven, right?? Dan and I are going back home this weekend to give our support to Detroit. I'm excited to go home to see our friends and family. I probably won't get on to update during the weekend, but I will still have posts for the Father's Day gifts.

Speaking of Zazzle, I totally forget to post about my sale last week!

That photo was taken at the Cosley Zoo. All the goats just lined up like they were getting ready for me to take their family portrait!

Time for a long day at work. Just want to share this video with everyone before I leave. Nicole's boyfriend showed it to me. I think it's adorable!

It's Beautiful Outside!

I just woke up not too long ago. I finally got a nice amount of sleep for once. I'm not really sure what I'm going to do today. I might possibly go to the pool today to hang out with Nicole.

Right now I'm watching the Tyra Banks Show. It's a pretty interesting episode. I tuned in when they were talking to bridezillas and trying to get them to tone down and be less controlling. Now they are doing the NIVEA My Silhouette! My Skinny Jeans Challenge. Did anyone else watch it today?

Oh, and I just want to share this video with all of you. You're going to watch it over and over again.

Charlie!

Still no work. Well, not until 11PM tonight. I've done a lot of work on our bedroom for the bed that's being delivered on Friday. I can't express how excited I am!

Dan and I did end up going to Sonic last night for the free root beer floats. We ordered food before getting in line for the floats. It was our first time at Sonic. I had a cheeseburger and Danny had some kind of chicken sandwich, as he always does. I've heard the food is bad and overpriced there, but I disagree. We both thought the food was delicious and it was about a dollar less than what the two of us spend at McDonald's. After we finished our food, we got into the (gigantically huge) line for the floats, which was pretty much a waste to me because I don't even like root beer. Dan enjoyed his float, while I just picked the ice cream out of mine. :) It was a nice experience in all. It was definitely great to get out and do something different.

I also just wanted to share this video with everyone. I know a lot of you may have already seen it but it makes me smile every time. :)

Watching Over Your Neighborhood

Around 3:30 AM on Saturday night I woke up to a phone call from my brother. I flipped open the phone and instantly woke up to the anxiety in his voice. All I could comprehend was that a vehicle was on fire and the call was disconnected. I received another call from my mom, who elaborated a little more on the situation. Apparently, the neighbor's truck across the street from them was engulfed with enormous flames. She wasn't sure what was going on, but she was really mad.
She called me in the afternoon after she found out everything that had been going on. The truck belongs to her neighbor's son who has been staying at his mother's (I believe he is in his mid 20's) and the reason his truck was on the verge of blowing up was because someone threw some sort of bomb in it. I guess it's been a person who has been after him off and on. My mom said she heard it was because of an affair the neighbor's son had with the guy's girlfriend and that guy is also a drug dealer. I am convinced that is very well drug related.

The home that the truck was parked in front of was completely destroyed and it had just been put up for sale.

Another incident I'd like to share with all of you is something that happened in my own apartment complex about a couple months ago. A boy that Dan goes to school with was smashed in the head with a baseball bat one afternoon. He was mistaken for the wrong person and it was drug related. He ended up being in a coma for several weeks and will never be in the same condition prior to the accident.

Both of these occurred in neighborhoods that aren't considered to be dangerous. Of course every neighborhood has their negative qualities, but I feel that these are just too crazy. I'd just like to remind everyone to keep an eye out for suspicious activities in your neighborhood. It is the only way to keep a community from deteriorating.

Catching Up

I have a couple of days off to get the apartment all ready for Friday. Dan's grandma bought us a new bed at Sears and they are delivering it sometime that day. We're both excited because we haven't had a bed in awhile and we're both trying to sleep out in the living room on the chair and couch.

No one has entered the coupon contest yet. It's open until June 6, 2009 9 AM EST. You can check it out and enter here.

I also have a couple new sales to announce!
I sold this yesterday. Great way to start off the month of June! :)

I also made my first sale out of the country! It sold to the UK.

I still have many more Father's Day gift ideas to share! Be sure to check back tomorrow to see what is next!
