Swine Flu
With all the scare about the Swine Flu, I just thought I would share this map with you. Google has been tracking all of the Swine Flu activity.
The purple marker indicates a confirmed or probable case.
The pink marker indicates suspected cases.
The yellow marker indicates that what were once thought to be Swine Flu cases are now negative.
And any marker without a black dot in the middle indicates a death.
Swine Flu Map
Here are some tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on how to protect yourself.
The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with swine flu infection in people. Like seasonal flu, swine flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

Here are some tips from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on how to protect yourself.
- Stay informed.
- Influenza is thought to spread mainly person-to-person through coughing or sneezing of infected people.
- Take everyday actions to stay healthy.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
- Stay home if you get sick. CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
- Follow public health advice regarding school closures, avoiding crowds and other social distancing measures.
- Develop a family emergency plan as a precaution. This should include storing a supply of food, medicines, facemasks, alcohol-based hand rubs and other essential supplies.

Great Shopping Deals
Before I started this blog I had a blog called Great Shopping Deals. I kind of gave up on it when I started this blog but I think I am going to try and keep up with that one as well. I don't think I will update it as often as this one but if you'd like to learn about sales and other hot deals I find on the Internet (and sometimes offline) then please come by and check it out. I will try to update at least a couple times a week.
Long Night and Hospital Nightmares
I mentioned on Thursday and Saturday that Dan hasn't been feeling too well. Well, after I got off of work on Saturday I decided to take Dan to the hospital, especially because of all of the Swine Flu scares. I took him to the ER not too far from us, Adventist. It was the worst experience I have ever had with the medical industry. I don't think they took care of Dan as well as they should have. They sent us home with a diagnosis of pharyngitis (a sore throat), a prescription for amoxicillin, and attached to Dan's dispatch papers were dispatch papers for another patient who had sliced his hand open. I unattached them and gave them back to the receptionist at the front desk on my way out and she apologized. That is an unacceptable mistake for a hospital to make.
After all of that mess we went home and I just tried to have Dan relax and get some rest. About 1 in the morning he woke up, freaking out and nauseous. I took his temperature and it was 104.1° (F). I knew he needed to get to a hospital, but I was not taking him to the same one as before. I searched for one online and found one a little out of our way but it was our only choice. It ended up being the best thing we could have done. As soon as we got there they took all of Dan's information and put him in a bed, took some blood and a urine sample and hooked him up to an IV. This new hospital diagnosed him with acute bronchitis and pneumonia, which is so far off from the first diagnosis, and sent us home with a prescription for azithromycin.
I am so angry with the first hospital and I have no intentions to pay them back for that hospital visit because they didn't even do anything. They didn't even leave him a call or panic button for him while he was in his hospital bed. It makes me so angry what some places can get away with and that they aren't being shut down. I will keep everyone updated about the billing situation and how I deal with it when that time comes along.
I have to go to work in the afternoon and I'm worried about leaving him home by himself all day. Hopefully he is a little bit better so that I can relax a little bit and know that he'll be able to handle himself.

Late Encounter
Yesterday was a pretty nice day. Nicole and I went walking around for awhile out in the sun and then we decided to go to the movies and watch Monsters VS. Aliens 3D. I thought it was a very cute movie and I'm glad we finally got to see it.
After the movie we went shopping for a bit. I'm very picky when it comes to shopping for clothes because I have the hardest time trying to find things that actually fit me. I found a really cute skort at Mandee. I don't like skirts because I'm always worried about them being too revealing, so it was perfect. I don't think I've owned a skort since I was in elementary school, haha.
Here's a picture of it from the website:

After we were finished shopping, Nicole's boyfriend Steve picked us up and I met up with Dan at home. I can't believe he made it through a full day of school and work today, he's feeling very ill. Dan doesn't usually get sick, so when he does it is pretty serious. He has a fever of about 101° (F) and I'm trying everything I can to get him back to health. He has the weekend off from school and work so hopefully that is enough recovery time for him.
I was up for a few hours last night trying to monitor his temperature and make sure he was okay and around 1 AM I heard someone banging on my door. Of course, out of instinct, I woke Dan up and I was freaking out. I finally opened after Dan looked out the peephole and the person on the other side told me they were the police. They were looking for someone and asked me a few questions. I'm not really sure what's going on but it has me a little worried.
I'm getting ready to go off to work for now. I get off at 6 PM, so I have a little bit of the day to still look forward to. I have to get up to Verizon to complain about my phone bill this month. They like to add in small charges behind my back but I always notice those types of things.
Hope you all have a great Saturday!

Hanging Out
Nicole and I ended up going to the movies to see the movie Earth. We left about 20 minutes early, though. After the movie we decided to walk home and stop at McDonald's on the way to get some ice cream.
I'm just waiting for Dan to get home from work now so that we can have dinner. He's not feeling too well, hopefully it doesn't last for too long.
I also sold another product on Zazzle this afternoon!

Beautiful Day!
Hope everyone had a nice Earth Day yesterday! I would have went out and cleaned the neighborhood, but instead I was at work cleaning theaters all day!
After a long day at work, it was a nice little surprise to come home at the end of the night and find that I sold one of my products in my gallery!

Exhausted
Had the day off today, didn't do too much. Nicole and I tried to catch a bus to the mall so that we could watch Monsters VS. Aliens 3D at my work, but we didn't catch the bus at the right time.
We went to this little Italian Deli called Mike and Tony's. I ate the most delicious Italian sub there and Nicole had a homemade brownie. I've got most of the weekend off, hopefully it will be better! It's been all rainy and cold but the weather is supposed to nice this weekend, hopefully. Hope you all have a great Earth Day tomorrow!

Just Getting Home
This weekend went by way too fast! I had a day off today so Dan and I went with Nicole and Steve for lunch at IHOP. After lunch we went to my work to see a movie. Dan and Steve went to see Fast and Furious (2009) and Nicole and I went to go see Observe and Report. I wish it wasn't raining out. We just had all this nice weather and now it's back to cold and rainy. I really can't wait for summer to come.
I suppose I'm going to help Dan do some chores around the apartment now. We have a lot to catch up on.

Eating Lunch
I'm just getting ready for work and eating BLT's with Dan. :) I'm not excited about going to work though, haha. It's not such a long shift today, 12-6. A few people at work are trying to get a hold of me to take their shifts tonight, but I'm not going to. I don't think people realize that I have errands to run and other stuff to do, even though I'm only 19. They are all still in high school, so they're trying to get a Friday night off to go out and have fun. When I get off I'm going to come home and do some laundry and then I think I will update again. I've got some more I'd like to write about but I have to go now.

Happy Belated Easter
Haven't had the chance to update in a few days, I've been pretty busy. Saturday I had Easter dinner with Nicole and Steve. We had honey glazed ham, turkey, potato salad and green been caserole. Later in the evening Nicole and I dyed and decorated eggs. I would have taken pictures if I had batteries for my camera!
Sunday we went over to our friend Matt's and grilled steaks for lunch. I couldn't stay for long because I actually had to work on Easter, from 6-close.
I never did get my taxes done when I said I was going to. I finally got mine and Dan's done yesterday because I had the day off.
I launched a new site which goes along with the blog. It's still being worked on, but you can check it out here.
One more thing I'd like to share with everyone is that Kroger is having a contest to design a reusable shopping bag. The contest is only open to US residents and there are prizes, too!
I'd like to thank jmpence for sharing this information with me.
Have a great Wednesday everyone!

Just Another Day
Yesterday was another nice day off. Dan and I took Nicole to the Cosley Zoo in Wheaton, IL. It's a free zoo, which is nice because we don't have a lot of money to do too many things. I didn't have my camera with me this time, but I have taken pictures of the animals there before. I just made a new Easter card with a picture of one of the bunnies there.

Since this is my last day off, I'm going to use it to get mine and Dan's taxes done. I think I'm going to try to spend some time cleaning up this apartment too!
Dan and I talked about when we're going to be going home next, and we should hopefully be back on the first weekend in May. We're also going to his grandma's cottage (northern Michigan) during Memorial Day weekend, and I'm pretty excited. I will definitely have pictures from there to share with you all!
I also received this Sisterhood Award (from Gilbert/Cely @New Horizon)! Thank you very much.
Here are the rules for the award:
1. Put the logo on your blog or post.
2. Nominate at least 10 blogs which show great Attitude and/or Gratitude!
3. Be sure to link to your nominees within your post.
4. Let them know that they have received this award by commenting on their blog.
5. Share the love and link to this post and to the person from whom you received your award.
There are so many people I'd like to give this award to. Where do I start?? I know this is probably breaking the rules, but I'd just like to give it to everyone who takes the time to read and comment my blog. Anyone is welcome to take this badge for themselves, you all deserve it!

Almost Bedtime
Haven't had a chance to update today! I hung around with Nicole for awhile today and then Dan and I had dinner with her and her boyfriend at her apartment. We had muscacholi, it was my first time having it and it was very good.
I'm having some computer problems, hoping it's not a virus. I'm not sure how to get rid of all the bad stuff on here, but it's causing me to not be able to get any work done. Hopefully I can get it all taken care of soon.
I must also make it a goal to get my taxes done tomorrow (and maybe some Spring cleaning??)
EDIT// I just got rid of the Trojan on my computer, thanks to MalwareBytes! My AVG program couldn't pick it up I guess.

Getting Off Work
Just got home from work a little while ago. I'm glad I had the day off yesterday and not today because it's snowy outside. Yesterday was a beautiful day, I even got a sunburn! We were able to come up with some money to go out to the Byron Dragway and watch all the races. I have this video that I took but the quality is bad because it was on my cell phone but I think I'd like to share it with you all anyway. Before you watch it, please turn down your volume because it is very loud.
I received my button that I bought from hmx_23 (to support the 3-Day Breast Cancer) walk the other day. It is very beautiful and I love the way that it came out. I have it on my name tag for work!
On the subject of fundraising, I'd like to share this website with all of you that I found the other day. It is called The Bread Art Project. It is sponsored by the Grain Foods Foundation to help increase the awareness of the growing hunger problem in the United States. They are trying to help end hunger by donating $50,000 to Feeding America. In addition, they are donating $1 for every piece of Bread Art this is submitted, THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN! It's easy, free and fun. This is my contribution to the cause:

I work again tomorrow, and then I am off until Friday. I'm kind of disappointed about not having a lot of hours this week but I suppose I could use that time to get my taxes done!!
Danny is finally home with our pizza, so I'm going to go eat dinner now, have a nice night!

Just Getting Home
Haven't had a chance to update today because I'm just getting home. The weather was actually not so bad today, so Nicole and I went on a walk to 7-Eleven to get some drinks and then we hung out at the park for a bit.
Dan and I are supposed to go to the UTI races tomorrow, but we're not sure if we can come up with the money to go now. Rent was due a few days ago and we're falling behind. Hopefully I can hit some kind of jackpot on Slingo (my favorite online game) tonight and win some money. Wish me luck!!

Feeling Better
Happy April Fool's Day everyone! I checked Google when I woke up this morning, and they didn't have a special design for today. I wonder why?
I decided to try and make a green bean casserole to go with mine and Danny's dinner last night. Dan has never had it before, and it's my favorite. :)
It didn't come out bad at all:

I had to take a picture on my cell phone, my digital is dead!
My Hoppy Easter Mug was featured on LA's Designs. You can see it here.
Thank you for putting my design up!!!
Dan just got home from school so I'm going to get lunch ready now. I just wanted to thank everyone for all their kind comments the other day and let you all know that I am starting to feel a lot better now, hopefully it stays this way!
EDIT: I sold my Affenpinscher Magnet today. Thank you!!
